Great Ideas

You might already have a concept in mind based on your work in the first several chapters. You might want to do something that is closely aligned with your background and experience. But someone needs to buy your goods or services. Who are they and why do they need what you have to offer? What will they pay? Anyone can do an internet search and create a list of great side hustles. Matching one of them with your unique abilities, and a reachable market is the focus of this chapter.

This is important because ideas in general – are a dime a dozen. It’s always them off that counts in the long run. One of the most basic entrepreneurial activities is solving problems. Another is filling a void in the market.

There are reasons why people improve products and services, then go on to make a bundle of money. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If your idea is for a local market, you may find a great idea in another town that would benefit your community. In all cases, there are proven processes that can help you make good market decisions and avoid costly mistakes.

If you think about it, there are lots of problems to be solved. Some may be extremely marketable, and do-able, for a solo gig.
