Digital Marketing

Digital marketing includes website design, social media outlets, and other internet marketing. This is beyond traditional marketing outlets like advertising, printed materials (flyers and signs), and publicity. What you need to promote your brand depends on what you do. If you are a local artisan, you will need signs. But a consultant may just need business cards.

You can do research by using your industry and looking up the term ‘marketing mix.’ You will find all the elements of a good marketing program. The entire mix is called the ‘4 Ps’ (Product – Price – Place – Promotion). You included the first 3 Ps in your business plan. Now we want to talk about promotions.

If you do research on every possible type of side hustle you can think of, the one common element is a digital marketing campaign. At GTF, we teach this in our courses, and much of the chapter's content is included. The reason GTF specializes in digital marketing is that micro startups only need a website and content for all its pages to get started. The website is the business plan. We also find that a thorough website is something that many existing small businesses need, but do not have.
